Shopstyle

Feature Within an Existing App

Introduction

Being an avid online shopper, I often save phone screenshots of looks that I see online that inspire me. ShopStyle is an amazing app for online shoppers, and having the ability to save those fashion inspirations on the app itself would make it so much easier to reference later when looking for the next piece of clothing your closet is waiting for.

This project allows ShopStyle users to create their own inspiration board to help fuel their next shopping session.

Research Insights

My secondary research and analysis led me to understand that when it comes to shopping, inspiration can come from many different sources. People want to be inspired, especially when it comes to fashion. The trend of following and identifying influencers on platforms like Instagram and YouTube is an undeniable demonstration of this phenomenon.

ShopStyle effectively uses its platform to help its users find the pieces their closet is missing. Integrating an inspiration board within the ShopStyle app would allow users to dive deeper in their search for inspiration and help them purchase the right pieces they are looking for.

Conclusion & Next Steps

Usability tests were conducted with the final designs, and users noted that it felt natural to have an inspiration board in an app that allows you to build your perfect closet.

Users also mentioned that it would help them remember ideas better and make their online shopping much easier.

Working on ShopStyle was a great experience for me, as I love their concept and I’m a user of the ShopStyle application myself.
